Actually I ordered some other fabric swatches last night as well :) My best buddy, Audrey, is getting married in August and the date is starting to creep up on me. I don't know why I keep thinking August is so far away, it's really just 2 months and change. So last night I found a dealer that sells five swatches of the fabric for the dress I'll be wearing in her wedding. Hopefully one of the colors is similar to what the bridesmaids will be wearing.
This morning, I ordered swatches of the fabric we'll be using in the baby's room. I want to check out the fabric and make sure I love it before committing to ordering the accessories for the room. I also ordered a swatch of minky fabric. If you don't know what minky fabric is like, it's similar to fleece, but softer and it's a little shiny. My latest thought is that if I do the birds in the mobile with the patterned fabric on one side and the minky fabric on the other, it'd be very cute and have some texture. Plus, the look of the minky fabric reminds me a bit of feathers anyway :) I just want to make sure it'll be right for that project. But that swatch was only $1.50 with free delivery, so that works for me!
On a baby's room note....I've decided I do not like the paint color :( I tried so hard to like it, I really did! But it's too bright, it's too shiny, and the green reflects onto eeeeeeverything. So once I get my fabric and confirm that I actually like it, I'm going to take it with me to Home Depot or Walmart or whatever and find a more soothing green color. It sucks to have to do it again, but I think it'll be worth it so that I'm not wishing I chose a different color every time I walk in the baby's room.
