We rented a couple of movies on Saturday - "Cop Land" and "Fireproof". "Cop Land" was actually decent for a Sylvester Stallone movie, but I did end up falling asleep a bit toward the end. "Fireproof" was OK...I've heard so many great reviews, that I think I went into it expecting too much. Yes, it's important to be considerate and caring toward your spouse, but I don't think I learned anything new from it. Though the concept of the Love Dare does sound like fun (the main character is instructed to do one new thing for his spouse each day - from just doing something nice for her to buying her something), I think if you have a strong marriage, this isn't really anything you will need to be told. It's just stuff you'd do naturally out of adoration for your partner.
Then on Sunday we went and walked around Babies 'R' Us for a while and checked out the Shermag gliders that were on sale. I did like a Dutailier glider a lot - it's wide, comfy, and it reclines. And the ottoman has a little pull-out stool for nursing. But, the chair alone costs $500, and I just don't think it's worth $500. So we're back at it again. I really hate gliders, it's the one thing that has not been an easy choice so far. When we got home, we did our first coat of the new paint in the baby's room and it looks soooooooooo much better. For comparison, here's the color we'd originally picked:
Granted, it did look better after getting the second coat on, but it was just waaaaaaaaaay too bright and shiny. Now I love the new paint color so much, I keep peeking in the baby's room just to look at it :) I also ordered the crib skirt and the changing pad cover, I just need to put in the order for the Roman shade and we should be all set. I'm hoping to get everything finished and set up before we go home in August. We have our shower then, and I'm assuming I'll be bringing back lots of stuff, so I'd love to have the baby's room set up so I can just put everything away as we get it.
I am debating whether or not to post progress pics...I usually like to just put up before and after, but since the dresser won't be coming until later in the summer and the glider isn't even ordered yet, finishing this room will be a much lengthier undertaking than the other rooms in the house.
I have my first glucose test tomorrow morning! Wish me luck!! :) Then a week from Friday we get to hear our baby's little heartbeat again at our next appointment with the midwife.
