Thank goodness this week is going so much faster than last week. Last week felt so long. Yuck. Now we've got another busy stretch coming up, so I keep forgetting where/when/how things are working. For example, I've been convinced all week that Tom is leaving for Man Weekend next weekend, but that's not right. This upcoming weekend we're going down to Richmond for the Republican Convention, next weekend we have our neighbor's cookout, the weekend after that is Man Weekend (and, actually Ladies' Weekend for me and Lindsey), then we're going for a visit up to Connecticut. Then we get a nice break until early August.
In baby news, I was supposed to have my first glucose test this morning, but I didn't realize I was supposed to bring a paper work-up with me, so I had to reschedule. Now I'll have that test on Tuesday, and our next midwife appointment is the following Friday. I also put in the order for our crib skirt and changing pad cover yesterday, and I'll be ordering the shade for the baby's room today. I'll probably go ahead and order the room accessories at this point, too, since one of the things I most wanted in the room was apparently snatched up already :( I can't find my tree growth chart on Etsy anymore. The shade should be delivered in about 4-6 weeks, and I should get the crib skirt and changing pad cover in mid to late July. We also need to hurry up and order a glider soon if we're going to get that in by August. I'm also working diligently on sewing up my birdies for the mobile. I've got about four of them done and I'd like to make another six more or so. They really only take about an hour or so to make, so I've been working on them in the evenings while we watch TV. Our other big project in there is the closet. I have no clue how to work with it, since it's very oddly shaped. And we pretty much have to start from scratch since the only storage options in there right now are shelves that make no sense and a bar that is too high for me to reach.
How far along? 19 weeks
Best moment this week: Getting the first coat of the new paint up in the baby's room. It's soooo much prettier.
What I am looking forward to: Bringing the baby to his/her first political convention this weekend!
