Leaps & Bounds

This past week has seen an absolute explosion in Ellie's development. It's just fascinating to see her go from being a tiny, helpless baby, to this independent little girl. Since last weekend, she's mastered the following:
  • Sitting on her own
  • Feeding herself puffs
  • Babbling with consonants (we joke that she wants a little brother named "John" since that's what it sounds like..."JohnJohnJohnJohnJohn!"...though I'm pretty sure I heard "Oprah" last night, too! haha)
  • "Walking" with us holding her hands
  • Scooting on the floor
  • Pushing herself into push-up position
I really don't think crawling is too far off on the horizon now...and maybe even some first words! Apparently I said my first words around 7 months, so it could happen! Guess we need to start the baby-proofing...

Wow, way to go, Ellie! Aren't you obsessed with puffs now?! I'm saving the empty containers to make a little bowling game for Charlotte. The containers can be the "pins"! :) Also fun to fill them with magnets and let Reagan shake them.

lol YES! I'm way more comfortable with those and seeing how great she's doing with "chewing" those is making me feel more comfortable w/finger foods in general. What kinds of finger foods are you doing with Reagan?

We haven't tried a ton of things...steamed peas (she wasn't a fan), mushy noodles (also not a fan), pieces of bread (moderate success), bits of goldfish crackers (success), cheerios, etc. She's actually gotten into the purees so when it's crazy, we just feed her a jar of food to keep it simple for us.

Oh, that's great that she's liking the purees now! Makes it a little easier. Tom gave her a piece of sauerkraut the other day...ick! hahaha
