So after getting all these new windows put in, I'm suddenly itching to get the curtains that I've always wanted in the living room and dining room. I know exactly what I want in the living room, but the bay window in the dining room has me stumped. The main problem is that the windows go straight up to the ceiling in that nook, and the windows themselves have very little space between them. This means that I'll likely have to hang the curtain rod from the ceiling, and no one sells a double bay window rod with a ceiling mount. I know that I want sheers under the curtains in the living room because those windows face the street, but I'm not sure we need sheers in the bay, too. I think it might look more coordinated with the living room if they do, but it would definitely add a little more bulk in an area where we can't really afford much bulk to begin with.
So I guess I'm thinking I like the idea of this if we don't go with the sheers:

I could just do small rods between each of the windows and on the ends of the bay, then figure out some kind of tie-back...not a huge fan of tassels, though.
If we do want to do the sheers for a bit of added privacy, there's this look:

I'd put the sheers directly over the bay windows, then put the curtains over the top of the casement. I don't think this is the best way to show off the windows, though, and if I close the shades, that'll cut off the entire nook from the floor space. I'm also not a huge fan of the curtain rod being installed over the casement.
Thoughts????
ETA: Here's a pic of the bay now.
