I probably won't have too long since Ellie is napping in the other room and I have other things I really ought to be doing (ie. put away laundry). To follow up on my last post, breastfeeding is going much better now. She is generally less fussy and simply latches on right away. I still have to pump and bottle feed at night because she's too sleepy to breastfeed, which is fine. Once she hits 6 pounds, we won't have to wake her every 4 hours to eat, so that'll help. She'll be able to eat when she's really hungry, as opposed to when I feed her. We are going to the doctor's again on Thursday morning for a weight check, so we're hoping she'll be up to around 5lb 4oz, which would be a gain of about an ounce a day.
We had a quick visit with Brian and Abby and their girls on Sunday, they dropped off a cute outfit for Ellie and a lasagna (soooo good - thanks, guys!) and we had a card for their baby's baptism as well. It was nice to see them and (I know you read this, Abby!) I hope we can get together again with all the kids sometime after RSV season passes in the spring. Speaking of which, you should anticipate a blog post on RSV soon, since it's pretty important for Ellie's health and safety that it is understood and I know a lot of the people who love us most read this blog regularly.
After everyone left, we took off for church and Ellie behaved beautifully despite having a dirty diaper and being hungry toward the end of the service. We got home just in time to feed her before the meltdown really started. During the service, our church welcomed new members and Tom and I were able to participate and receive our official membership papers. So now we belong! Yay! It's so nice to have a spiritual home, especially one with such a great sense of community. Speaking of which, we are considering participating in the big chili cookoff in a couple of weeks! I'll have to keep you updated if we decide to go through with it :)
Oh, and one more thing I'm proud of! I worked out this afternoon! I'm doing the 30 Day Shred workout, but I highly doubt I'll be able to get through all 3 levels in 30 days (especially since only levels 1 and 2 are available on the TV for free). Level 1 kicked my BUTT! I initially had some pain in my knees, but then I really focused on following her instructions and the pain lessened a lot, so I think paying attention to form will really help. The only move I couldn't do was the bicycle crunch, but I'm still only 5 weeks out from the C-section, so I'm not too worried about it. I was able to do the regular and reverse crunchs. Hopefully I'll be able to stick with the program despite the sleep deprivation...we'll see :)
