We also took her to church for the first time this morning. I was really nervous because I know how people like to touch little babies and she can't have lots of people touching her because her immune system is still under-developed, but I think her tiny size intimidated people a bit, and while TONS of people looked at her and came over to say hi, no one touched her. It helps that it's not too young of a community, so most of the kids are older. The big incentive to make it out to church this morning was that they were giving flu shots after the service, so both Tom and I were able to get our shots. One more thing off the list! Next weekend we'll be going to the 11am service where we will officially become the newest members of our church :)
Another really great first this week was Ellie holding her head up. We've been doing tummy time with her whenever she's awake (which is still pretty rare at this point), and she's been getting stronger and having more control every day. A couple of nights ago, Tom and I were laying on the floor with her and I started singing her name to try and get her to flip her head over to look at me and she did it, no problem! Then I hopped over to the other side and she did it again! Yay!
We're also giving her wrap a try for the first time this morning, and so far it's a total success. Since she's so tiny, I had to fold the fabric in half and really tie everything super tightly, but as soon as I snuggled her in, she fell right asleep and she's been sleeping ever since. It's so nice to be able to move from room to room without leaving her behind, and to have free use of both my hands. It's definitely not something to use when cooking or cleaning, but I think it's great for everything else! I love to be able to provide her with more of that physical closeness, since she really still should have several more weeks in the womb. Snuggling her up with me as much as possible is definitely a close second :)
Here are some pics from this week, I've added more to the album as well. She was in a good mood this morning, so I was able to get some really nice photo shoot style shots in, check them out!
