Ten Weeks!

Today is the first time my pants just won't button. Well, maybe if I used a shoehorn or something like that I could button them, but for all intents and purposes it's not gonna happen. So, at least with these pants, I think I'm in the bella band until I'm in maternity pants full-time. I'm pretty sure I just look fat to the rest of the world, but Tom and I can see a little baby belly starting. I figured I'd pop right around 13 weeks or so (my mom showed early and I'm even shorter than she is), so I think I'm on target for that.

Speaking of maternity clothes, I'm going to be ordering a few new pieces from Old Navy today. We're headed out to Florida in a couple of weeks and I just looked up the weather yesterday afternoon - it's been in the upper 80's there!!!!! And since I'm going to be pregnant all summer this year, I flat-out refuse to buy non-maternity warm-weather clothes. I just need a few longer tanks to hide this bella band and maybe a sundress.

Once we get back, it's going to be time to get working on the baby's room! I just can't believe how fast time is going FLY by! I was thinking today, there are only two more months until Audrey's wedding shower. Then after that, two more months until her wedding and my baby shower! And after THAT, only a little over two months until baby's here!

I'm hosting Audrey's shower this June and I just can't wait! I've got ideas, ideas, ideas, and they are all cute! :) I hope she loves it - Aud, I know you're reading this, I really think you will LOVE it! Not spilling any beans here. But, I will say I ordered all the materials I need to make up the invitations and I got a great deal on them since some of the pieces are being discontinued. I also received some other fantastic news on that front, but it's contingent for now. Hopefully it comes to pass, because it'd be perfect.

I love Old Navy maternity stuff :) I've read a lot of complaints about it on the Bump, but I've never had any issues. They definitely have some adorable sundresses right now too!

Way to go on already having a plan to get started on the nursery! We haven't really done anything for ours yet - it probably won't be done until right before she is born (or maybe even after...) This next weekend we are planning to paint and order furniture though - yay! Can't wait to see what ideas you have :)

Christie - I already have a pair of their "real waist" maternity pants...the ones with the adjustable elastic? Anyway, I LOVE them, so comfy! I think I got a little carried away, though, I ordered 1 tank, 1 lightweight shirt, a sundress, a 3/4 cardigan, and flip flops lol

As for the nursery - I've heard from all my friends who are already mommies that the earlier you get started on it, the better. Plus, I heard that there's going to be a voluntary ban on drop-side cribs in the next few months, so I want to get mine ordered before I can't find a drop-side anymore.

I bought a pair of the "real waist" jeans really early on when I bloated real bad and didn't want to spend money on normal jeans. They actually still fit me (and better than any of the full or half panel jeans) now that my stomach is HUGE so you will probably get a lot of use out of them!

Yeah I know, I wanted to get ours started a lot earlier than this :( Financially though, it just made sense to save up slowly and wait to make sure how our taxes turned out. One of the sacrifices of living on one income. However, we got an awesome return that should hit our bank account Friday and Aaron and I are hitting up BRU soon after! In a way (and I've heard this from other people too), it has been good to wait because now that I'm in the final stretch where things usually slow down - I still have quite a to do list to keep me occupied! So far 3rd tri is still really flying by for me and I've had so many people tell me it lasts forever and that it slowed down for them. We'll see how long the flying by feeling sticks around for though :)

that's EXACTLY what I wanted to hear about the pants, I might pick up a pair of the jeans, then! :)

We're trying to get back down to one income as well. When we first started out, I wasn't working at all, but since we've bought this house we've gotten into the habit of using my income. We got a decent return this year, too (not as good as last year, but not bad), so I think that's going straight to savings and we'll just use Tom's paychecks to help pay for baby stuff. So complicated!! :-P
