9 Weeks Today!

By the end of this week, baby will no longer be an embryo - he/she will be a fetus! Baby's also starting to move this week, although it's way too early to feel anything. The coolest part? Baby's brain is making 25,000 new neurons every minute this week! Baby's going to be a genius like Mommy and Daddy :)

I've been thinking of starting a pregnancy journal just for Baby, Tommy, and me. Since time is flying by, I'll have to get started on this soon if it's really something I want to do. I also would like to take some belly pictures every week, especially now that I'm starting to notice some differences.

I don't think I've gained any weight yet, but my belly (and boobs!) have definitely gotten bigger in the past week. Not by much, but enough for me to notice, and enough to start feeling uncomfortable in my clothes. My work pants, especially were getting too tight, so as of today, I'm ditching them for maternity pants. It's pretty early to be in maternity pants, but I'm infinitely more comfortable. They're actually pretty neat, they're from Old Navy and they have these elastic tabs sewn into the waist so the pants can grow with you. Right now they're at the tightest setting, but they're still a little big. I also had to hem them since apparently short women don't get pregnant and therefore there is no need for petite maternity clothes. At least not cute petite maternity clothes.

At any rate, I always assumed I'd show early since I'm painfully short, so I'm not entirely surprised that I've been looking a little thicker lately, at least to myself. We have our very first OB appointment on Friday, and we're both really looking forward to it. I don't think we'll be lucky enough to get an ultrasound this time, but I'm hoping we can at least hear the baby's heartbeat on the Doppler.
