Freecycle Success!
Thanks to Abby, I've finally discovered the joy that is Freecycle! Freecycle is basically an online group where you can post things that you want to get rid of, take things others want to get rid of (for free!), or ask whether anyone has a particular item they'd like to give away that you'd like to have. Genius - totally makes use of the fact that one person's trash is another's treasure! So now that I'm hooked on looking for free things to take, I decided today to start posting some things of my own to give. My bags of clothes are still going to go to the Purple Heart (they pick up) once I give them another look, but things like old lamps, serving dishes, picture frames, and other miscellaneous stuff that's now taking up space in my laundry room are definitely going to Freecycle. My plan is to post one item per day on either Craigslist (I'm definitely going to try and get some money for some things) or Freecycle until the room is cleared out. Today's item was an old bedding set - within ten minutes, I had 8 responses! The set's now sitting on the porch and should be picked up within the hour, and I have more SPACE in my laundry room already!

Woohoo! Isn't it awesome? And now that we've gotten so many amazing things for free, I'm more apt to post stuff that I would normally try to sell and it just feels good knowing you're totally making someone's day and paying it forward.
