Typing that out makes me soooo nervous. I hate making big purchases, and even more so now that we're only bringing in one salary. We live pretty frugally, so to drop $8,000 on new windows is a HUGE deal. But, these windows seem amazing and the sales rep said we could save anywhere from 35-50% on our energy costs. Our heating bill for January was over $500, so this is definitely something that had to be done. Not to mention the resale value - if this hadn't been a short sale, I'm sure we would have negotiated the price down based on how awful these windows are, so I'm sure when we're the sellers, the case will be the same. If we're going to have to pay for these windows anyway, we may as well enjoy them (and lower energy bills) now!
The install should begin sometime in mid-May, so I'll keep you all updated!
