New Look!

Thanks to Christie from Life With Little Cars for the tips (and motivation)! I'm especially proud of my header, which I made in Picasa with free fonts from kevinandamanda.com. I think it looks pretty good for a freebie and it was so easy, I plan to update it every month!

Nothing new to report here...the window guy came out to measure our windows on Friday. Went to church on Sunday. We are now in Holy Week, so we've got church again on Thursday and Friday and we're looking forward to praising Jesus as he is risen on Easter Sunday. Also getting ready for our trip to Florida soon (countdown has begun!) and our first flight with Ellie. Which reminds me - moms, any tips on travel with a 7 month old? Thankfully it should be a short flight, so as Tom said, even if she cries the whole time no one will want to kill us.

Is it just me or is this year flying faster than the norm? My birthday's already gone by, Easter is almost here, and starting Thursday we're in for temps in the low- to mid-80's, which just screams summer to me. Speaking of summer, I've been thinking for a while of getting some new skirts lined up, and potentially sewing them myself. But before I can do that, I really need to clean out the basement so I have a place to work. And on that note, I'm off to take advantage of naptime and get some cleaning done! Kitchen and living rooms today ;-)

lol thanks :) I think I called it too soon...instead of getting up and cleaning like I was supposed to, I actually tinkered all through nap time. I have one final edit and then I swear I'm done!

Love it! That background is on my rotation list so you may see it on my blog in the future :)

I don't see your header though :(

How did you do the cool graphics in your columns as the titles of things? I've seen that on other blogs but have never figured it out!

Thanks, Christie! What kind of browser are you using? I have a feeling you aren't seeing the right background, either - I did have one with flowers picked out, but decided to go with a green polka dot one that I found online, instead. So if you're still seeing the Blogger flower one, that's not right either. I tried all 3 browsers here and it seems like Firefox was having a hard time with my background, but I was able to see the header w/all 3 (we currently use and LOVE Google Chrome).

The graphics were actually super easy. I used scrapblog.com to find the circles (searched for free green stickers), then saved the image. Opened in Picasa and edited to add text, then saved as a new image. Then hosted that at tinypic.com and uploaded to blogger. I know you're familiar with Picasa, so I don't think you'd have any problems with it, but let me know if you get stuck. It was fun!

Oh, and all the cool fonts are from kevinandamanda.com. They have a bunch of different kinds, all free, and instructions on how to download (they also have a how-to on putting the fonts in your blogger post headings).

I figured it out. There is a background on the new blogger template that looks a lot like the one you have except you can change the colors of it and the polka dots are just slightly bigger. I had looked at that one (and had even tested it out in a similar green) but now looking again I see that yours is slightly different!

I use Firefox. I like Google Chrome, but we haven't installed it on our new computer yet (actually, not sure they have a version for macs yet, I've only ever used it on Aaron's PC).

Thanks for the tips, I'll have to check out that site for fonts, I love fonts :)

Oh man, I wish I knew blogger already had the polka dot thing, would have been so much easier lol.

Yeah, definitely check it out, I LOVE that site. They actually have a thing where you can submit your own handwriting to be made into a font!
