Great Appointment Yesterday

Our midwife appointment yesterday went very well - for the first time, my blood pressure has gone down! This time it was 125/78, which is right within the normal range. I'm measuring about 33 weeks, which is fine since I've measured about a week ahead the whole time. My weight is still in line, and Ellie's heartrate was a perfect 150bpm.

This time the midwife couldn't be 100% sure of her position - she's pretty sure Ellie's head is down, but she couldn't confirm it completely. She said they'd confirm it the next time I go in and if they still couldn't be 100% sure, that they'd put me on the sonogram. So I'm secretly hoping they can't figure it out and we need the ultrasound, I would LOVE to see my little girl one more time.

I also discussed how much time off I'll be taking before the baby's born with my boss this morning. Basically, I think I'd like to take about two weeks before the baby's due date - that way I'll have a final end date and can tie up loose ends and prepare appropriately, plus have some time to get our house ready and relax before Ellie's born. I really don't want to have everything wrapped up and just have to sit at my desk, wishing I could be at home. But it all comes down to how my disability pay will be calculated. I would have to take leave without pay for those two weeks and disability is generally calculated based on an average of the hours worked in the weeks prior to the disability. If they include those two weeks of leave without pay in the average, it'd look like I made significantly less and I'd receive less pay during my disability leave. So I'll be calling today to get all that figured out.
