It's pretty clear from the updates to this blog that I've been on vacation, huh? Well, now it's over and as of today I'm back at work and we've resumed our regular schedule. We got back to Virginia on Monday evening then I spent the day on Tuesday doing some organizing and cleaning, resting, and puting together baby stuff from the shower. It took 2 HOURS to get the swing put together! But totally worth it, it's so soft and cute! And it was really nice to be at home, and it feels so right. I made myself some mac and cheese for lunch and while it was cooking I did my weekly kitchen scrub, and pretended that I was home for good with the baby napping upstairs. I cannot wait until that's my full-time job!
To update from the last time I posted, the rest of our week was just as wonderful and relaxing as the first half. Tom and I spent a lot of time hanging out at the pool and we each spent a little time with friends and family as well. On Saturday, we headed out to Mystic for Audrey's big wedding weekend. The rehearsal went very well and we had some really great food at a buffet over at the Mohegan Sun Casino afterwards with the group. On Sunday morning, we slept in and then I showered and headed out to Mystic for the wedding!
We spent the early afternoon getting our hair done and taking our time with things. It always seems like you start out with so much time, then it's a race to get everyone dressed when you realize how late it's gotten, and then the last 15 minutes just draaaaaaaaaaaag once everyone's ready to go, but it's not quite time yet. But anyway, everyone looked great and Audrey made a beautiful bride, her dress was so sparkly and pretty :) We even got a cute shot of Audrey and the baby belly, I hope that one comes out nice! I'll make sure to share the pics when Audrey gets them back.
This week I'm only in the office today and tomorrow, and then I'll be off on Friday for my 30 week appointment and my 3rd glucose test. At this point, I've pretty much resigned myself to just sucking it up and doing the test, but I sincerely hope this is the last time I'll have to do it this pregnancy. Unfortunately, it also sounds like Tom won't be able to make this appointment due to a meeting out in Arlington. That's OK, he's still only missed one other appointment so far, and I don't anticipate anything intersting in this one. I think next time we'll be discussing birth plans, so I do want him there for that one.
I still can't get over the fact that I'm 30 weeks today. I remember being 10 weeks and feeling very un-pregnant and now in just about 10 weeks I'll have a baby! She's still a pretty lazy baby in there, except when I drink some lemonade, which always gets her moving. I love her so much and cannot wait to meet her in just another 10 weeks! Next week we'll be in the single-digit week countdown, and a week from Friday will make me 8 months pregnant!
How far along? 30 weeks
Best moment this week? Playing stay-at-home mom yesterday and looking forward to my new 4 day work week schedule so I can make that a habit :)
What I am looking forward to: Hopefully passing my glucose test on Friday!
Weekly Wisdom: By 30 weeks the nesting instinct is pretty strong, so if you plan to have your shower somewhat early, you should also plan to have your closet or dresser set up so you can put baby's stuff away. It's KILLING me to have all these little baby clothes piles around my house and no home for them!
