Well, the results from Ellie's stool sample are in and it's NEGATIVE! No blood in her little poopies, thank the Lord. The nurse did say it was very hard and so we are to start her on 2 ounces of prune juice per day. And more good news - as of yesterday evening, she's been eating solids again! I don't want to jinx anything, but I'm very happy to see her eating again.

Yay! Prune juice always does wonders for Harper when she gets stopped up, so hopefully it'll work for Ellie too!
Also, you probably already know this but make sure you aren't giving her any rice cereal or oatmeal - both of those are insta-constipation causers in a lot of babies.
That's funny, one of my other friends said oatmeal works well for her boy! Ellie doesn't like cereals anyway, though, so it's kind of a moot point. I only ever give her fruits/veggies. We recently switched to 2xday feedings and I think that's what got her backed up in the first place. She did drink her whole bottle of juice before she went down for her nap so hopefully that'll help!
yay! that IS good news!
That just goes to show how different babies are :) Harper never really liked the cereals either and when we realized they only stopped her up we quit with them altogether!
Hope the juice works! We're dealing with poop issues over here (but the opposite problem) and H has a nasty diaper rash as a result :(
Ugh diaper rash SUCKS! Ellie had a BAD one when she was just a couple months old, it was so bad it was bleeding, poor thing :( I just let her nap on a towel on the floor in the sunlight - probably not the best idea with a fully mobile baby, though! Are you guys using Boudreaux's? Love that stuff.
ETA: On a towel in the sunlight SANS DIAPER. Pretty sure just sticking her in the sun wouldn't have helped lol
Oh, and we also used a hairdryer on her but after every change and before we put on the Butt Paste. You could tell it felt good on her sore little hiney.
