McFatty Monday: Week 1

Ok, first to explain why I'm posting at 3:30am on a Monday morning. I was super tired this afternoon and Tom and I decided to take a nap together while Ellie napped. It was a fabulous little nap, but unfortunately I just wasn't able to go back to bed at the normal time. I laid awake until about 2:30, then got up and played around online and just now decided to do McFatty Monday (apparently even the internets goes to sleep).

So my weigh-in wasn't quite what I wanted - I've only lost 1.4lbs (I was aiming for at least 2). But, I'm not too concerned since I know at least a bit of that is muscle gained. And 1.4lbs really is respectable for one weeks' loss, plus I'm happy that I haven't seen the 170's at all this week, and I actually was down to 166.7lbs at one point (yes, I do weigh myself daily and I find it helps to keep me focused and motivated). I did the 30 Day Shred every day this week and ate very well, plus we also went for one or two really long walks outside. I can definitely see some definition in my arms. I'm also fitting very nicely into my pre-pregnancy jeans and even felt good just wearing them and a tank yesterday (how awful is it that I still wear maternity and nursing tanks and I haven't been pregnant or nursing for at least the past 2 months?? They're just so nice and long!).

Since muscle builds more calories than fat, my grand strategy is to work through the 30 Day Shred and put on some muscle while taking off fat. Once I've worked through this DVD, I'm going to go back to the Couch to 5K program to get back into running. Nothing takes off fat like straight cardio. It'll never be as nice running here as it was running past the farms near my parents' home, but it has to be done. I'll have to figure out something to do on the "off" days - I'm considering Jillian Michaels's "No More Trouble Zones" DVD (can you tell I love me some JM??), it has amazing reviews and it's a bit more intense than the 30DS, so I think it'd be really good for an every-other-day type of workout. The C25K program is 9 weeks long, so if I lose two pounds per week between the 30DS and the C25K, I should be down about 26lbs by the end of the C25K program. That'll put me within 13lbs of my goal, which would be amazing.

Starting weight: 182.7lbs
Current weight: 169.1lbs
This week's loss: 1.4lbs
Total loss: 13.6lbs

Only 39.1lbs to goal!

I love how long maternity tanks are! Especially for me since I'm so tall and I always struggle to get shirts that are long enough after they've been washed.

Hope your day went ok, despite being up so early!
