2009 in Review
In January, I traveled with Audrey to New York City. Shortly after that trip, I got pregnant!
In February, Tom and I found out about the pregnancy and confirmed we were having one healthy baby.
In March, I turned 23 and we saw Eleanor's beautiful heart beating for the very first time.
In April, I started going to my midwife practice and entered the second trimester. Tom and I also took a much-needed vacation to Florida with his family.
In May, we started working on Ellie's nursery, and I felt her first kicks!
In June, we found out the baby was a girl and chose her name: Eleanor Marie.
In July, Tom finally felt Ellie kicking in my tummy, we visited North Carolina, and I entered the third trimester.
In August, I was the matron of honor in Audrey's wedding and we started our birthing classes (of course, we never really got to use the info, but c'est la vie)!
In September, we got a crash course in parenting when Miss Eleanor was born 6 weeks early in very scary and dramatic circumstances! Most of September was spent by her side in the NICU and finally took her home after 16 days.
In October, we had many sleepless nights before Ellie was diagnosed with reflux.
In November, we finally figured out the right medicine for Ellie's reflux and had a happy baby who wasn't in constant pain.
In December, Ellie started sleeping through the night and we got our very first smiles from her.
Every month in 2009 was better than the last and I am so excited to see what 2010 brings. As for resolutions, well, I believe that if you're going to make a change in your life, what better time to start than the present? So I don't have any resolutions. But I would like to continue working on making some changes to myself. I want to keep losing weight (I gained over 4lbs this week from completely trashing my diet for the holidays!), continue trying to be the best mom to Ellie that I can be, and I'd like to start doing something creative with my spare time.
Happy New Year!
