What a Good Idea!

I just ordered this BPA-Free Baby Bottle Sampler pack from thesoftlanding.com!

From everything I've read and heard, babies tend to choose the bottles and pacifiers they like. Of course, some babies aren't as picky as others, but buying this sample pack will give us four options right off the bat so we can decide which bottle will work best for us before we buy our whole stash.

And the best part is, all four bottles are BPA free! For those of you who don't know, Bisphenol A is a chemical compound found in many everday plastic products. BPA is known to simulate human hormones and can possibly disrupt the endocrine system. As pretty much every story like this goes, studies have been conflicting, with some countries saying BPA levels aren't harmful, and others saying they most certainly are.

As for me, I'm convinced the rising levels of infertility in our society cannot solely be linked to rising maternal age at first childbirth. All the chemicals and hormones we pour into our bodies on a daily basis just can't be good. Right this minute for example, I'm sitting at my desk, wearing clothes that have been washed in chemical cleaning products. I'm staring at a computer screen and next to the tower, which I'm sure are emitting some sort of electricity, if not something worse. I'm in a 13 story building with no open windows and thus no fresh air - just the stuff that's been circulated and recirculated. And I'm drinking my juice from a styrofoam cup. Forty years ago, none of this would be happening. And people don't think there's a link?

So, stepping back off my soapbox, I'm excited about these bottles :)

The only ones I've seen are the Dr. Brown's - a couple babies have those, but the flow is reeallllly fast, despite diff. nipples. A lot of my kiddos like Avent. http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/en/us/consumer/cc/_categoryid_MCC_BOTTLE_FEEDING_CA_US_CONSUMER/

Yeah, I wish they included the Avent in this package - I know Avent did recently come out with BPA free bottles, so if none of these bottles work, I'll definitely pick up an Avent. Not sure how often we'll be using the bottles, anyway.
