Back on the Healthy Living Bandwagon

So every once in a while Tom and I get all amped up and decide to try and get in better shape. Generally, he's great about it and succeeds. Quickly. I make half-assed attempts and give up when I don't make any progress. Also quickly.

So Tom's been working out and eating great and I've been sort of working out and eating OK, but this time I'm really going to try to stick with it. I've made measureable and specific goals and I'm going to try and do what I know works for me. I'm really not that bad about eating, I generally just eat whatever's in front of me. It's much easier with Tom eating well, because usually now it's healthy foods that are in front of me (and bad food does not taste nearly as good when your partner in crime refuses to eat it). And I'm definitely doing fine with calories. It's the working out that can screw me up pretty badly. So I'm going to write out my workout plan for a minute. I'm committing to this plan.

Monday: Run 45 min, ab workout
Tuesday: Run 20 min, Pilates
Wednesday: Run 30 min, yoga
Thursday: Run 45 min, ab workout
Friday: Run 20 min, Pilates
Saturday: Run 45 min, Alternate exercise 1 hour
Sunday: Run 45 min, Alternate exercise 1 hour

I'm also going to commit to walking Joey for 1/2 hour each day. It kind of seems like a lot written out like that, but with my PCOS I have a really hard time losing weight. Generally when I work out regularly and eat well, I don't lose weight - I maintain. So like Tom said, I'm just going to have to work twice as hard if I want to lose at all.

Hi there!
My problem seems to be opposite of yours. I am pretty good with working out, but my eating sucks. But I totally know what you mean about the half-assed attempts at weight loss. I am the same way. Good luck with everything!

P.S. I will be adding you to my blog list also.
