Rooming in with Ellie Tonight!

Our hospital offers NICU parents the opportunity to spend the night at the hospital with the little ones once they are nearly ready to go home - and tonight is our night!

So tonight at about 9pm, Tom and I are grabbing our hospital bag for the second time and this time, we'll have a baby in the room with us! We're both a little nervous, since this is the first time she'll be off the monitors and entirely our responsibility, but we're excited to move one more step closer to brining her home and starting our life as a family of three.

We also received the test results that were sent out at Ellie's birth. They did not indicate any infection, and the placenta was completely normal. So it appears that Ellie's early arrival was either due to something they cannot find on the tests or a completely random occurrence. Regardless, any future pregnancies will be considered "high risk" and I'll be subject to additional monitoring throughout. I'm still not sure if I'd be able to use the midwives in the future because of my high risk status, but I can wait until my 6 week appointment to find out the details on that.

Oh gosh, yes!!! Thank you so much...got one from your mom, too. We really REALLY appreciate it. Get this, though - some of those preemie outfits are too big lol. She'll have to grow into them! She's quite tiny lol
