Crazy Storm

Ellie and I managed to pull into our parking space just ahead of the crazy storms last night, thunder was rolling through and everything. I took her down to the basement and put the weather on to keep an eye out for tornado watches/warnings and the rain started coming. It was nuts, the rain was coming down so hard, at one point I had a tough time seeing our fence from the basement window. Joey was acting a bit nervous, and I could hear him whining upstairs. I called him down to me and realized he was wet. That's when I rememeberd that sometimes when the wind blows really badly, our kitchen door will blow open if it isn't really latched. I ran upstairs to shut the door and couldn't get it latched against the wind, so I jammed a chair under the doorknob. Then the wind blew the door AND the chair out! I ran back toward the door and managed to slam my body against it hard enough to latch it properly, but fell in the puddle, flat on my back in the process. Baby and I both seem to be fine...I'm a little sore, but the baby is kicking away and was all night long, so I think we're OK. I'm planning to check in with my midwife this morning, just in case.

Hopefully the rest of this week is much more boring than last night! Today we're off to buy the rest of the things we need to finish off Ellie's big girl room, and then we've got playdates and another glucose test scheduled for the rest of the week.
