The News is Out - It's a GIRL!

I'm so excited to have two sisters in our little family, I hope they become really close friends as they grow! Ellie's already so sweet about it, she knows there is a baby in my tummy and will give her baby sister kisses. So cute! Here's our beautiful little girl:

We're still working on a name for our newest little girl. Seems like we keep going in circles, but I'm sure we'll decide on one soon, we've got time.

Speaking of time, we're headed into the part of pregnancy that seems to move a bit quicker. I'm definitely showing, feeling lots of kicks, and now we're almost to the point where the doctors' appointments are going to start coming quicker. Everything is fine with the baby and looked great at the anatomy scan, but I'm still really scared that the other shoe is going to drop, especially since this pregnancy has been so similiar to Ellie's.

I'll be 22 weeks on Thursday, and at 28 weeks, I have another glucose test and a consult with the physician who did my C-section last time, just to make sure everyone's on board with attempting a VBAC this time. At 30 weeks, I start weekly non-stress tests to keep an eye on how healthy the baby is in utero. At 32 and 36 weeks, I'll have growth scans to make sure I have the right amount of fluid and that the baby is developing correctly. Hopefully all this extra information will just confirm that the baby is doing well and keep my anxiety level in acceptable ranges. The next 6 weeks are going to be the most nerve-wracking...24 weeks marks viability, which means that if the baby is born, she'll have a shot at survival. Unfortunately this time around, I know that surviving doesn't equal thriving and a baby born that early faces incredibly long, painful odds and likely will face life-long struggles. I'll feel much better once we hit the 28 week mark, when outcomes really start to improve.
