Today marks the halfway point of this pregnancy (assuming we make it a full 40 weeks this time)! Baby number 2 is about the size of a cantelope, though I'm not sure exactly what that means...are we talking length vs. diameter? Weight? Volume? I have no idea, but a cantelope doesn't seem so small to me, so it's exciting :) Baby's also been kicking a lot lately, and I can feel the kicks on and off throughout the day, which is always fun and reassuring. I actually saw the baby move on the outside for the first time (ever - Ellie never did this) a few days ago...it was amazing. And weird. haha Tom was able to feel one kick, too, and I'm hoping he'll feel lots more as the baby grows. I've been waiting to feel the kicks on my hand and they seem like they'd be hard enough to feel, but they never seem to match up with where I have my hand placed.
We've been keeping very busy out here with playdates, mommy/daughter lunches, and church volunteering, among other things, so time is passing pretty quickly. We also had a string of bad storms pass through the area last night/this morning, including some tornadoes that touched down. Unfortunately this string of storms is coming with a death toll - I heard 83 in Alabama and 4 here in Virginia. I really hate tornadoes.
I've also started selling some of our books on half.com. We cleared out our bookcase so we could move it to the basement and put some kids' things in it and in the process purged probably about 200 books. I'm about a quarter of the way through listing them and I actually made two sales yesterday. I shipped one of the books already and plan to ship the second out this morning. We won't make much money off it, but we'll make more than we would have at a yard sale and we'll get the books out of our house.
We also had a great Easter weekend, we spent the morning at church where Ellie participated in an egg hunt and I actually got a lot of great pictures...hopefully I'll have time to post them soon! After church, we came home and had a great brunch with friends. I love brunch, it's so much better than just breakfast.
