Wow, the last few weeks in our house have been just insane. First, Tom was logging tons of extra hours (including overnights) at work...I think he actually went four days without seeing Ellie at all. Then, things started to calm down in the office for him and Ellie got sick. Not badly, but she did throw up twice (once Wendesday morning, then again on Thursday morning). Thursday afternoon, she sneezed right in my face and by Friday morning, I got hit with the bug. Terrible, terrible, terrible bug. I'm not sure if this virus was legitmately worse than others I've had in the past or if it's because all of my body's resources were going straight to the baby instead of to me, but it was about as sick as I've ever been. The nurse Tom spoke with at the midwife's office told him to keep me from drinking anything for four hours, then slowly introduce liquids. If I was still vomitting after those four hours, we'd have to head to the ER for some IV fluids. I was still getting sick at the 3:30 mark, but by then I was begging for water, even if it did make me sick, so we tried some ice chips at four hours and I was (thankfully) able to keep them down. I came close to losing it again a few times, but I was able to keep down the liquids and even ate a few crackers in the evening.
Even now, almost 72 hours from the last time I was sick, I'm still not feeling 100% better. I burst a bunch of blood vessels on my face and in my eyes, am still coughing some from having choked a little, and get winded and tired very easily. I'm trying to hold off on napping this afternoon since it seems to be messing with my sleep at night. Anyway, we're all praying that Tom doesn't catch it and that we can start to get back into our regular routine now.
In baby news, I'm definitely feeling movement now, so I love that! I'm hoping it just continues to grow stronger and more frequent. I'm also getting really anxious to find out if the baby's a boy or a girl. I still have a feeling it's a boy, but I had a dream the other night that it was a girl, so who knows. Once we schedule our big ultrasound, I'll put up a poll like I did with Ellie. It'll probably be sometime in late April/early May. I'm getting anxious to get rolling on the housework that needs to be done before baby gets here. We really need to get the office cleaned out and get started on turning that into Ellie's room. We've been trying to get to it the past two weekends now, but first Tom was working, then I was sick. Hopefully this upcoming weekend! I really want to be fully done with preparations by July this time, so we aren't scrambling if we have another preemie. Better safe than sorry, ya know? And of course, if this one's a boy, we'll have to sort through all the baby clothes to see what (if any) is gender-neutral, then fill in the wardrobe blanks. And there's still a double stroller to buy, and a video monitor, and more child-proofing upstairs, and on and on and on. We still have April, May, June, and July left - four months and approximately 16 weekends left to get all this stuff together!

ugh, sorry you were so sick! i had a similar bug when i was pregnant early on with C and it was AWFUL...but at least i wasn't chasing a toddler too! glad you are on the upswing now. love the new look of the blog!
Thank goodness Tom was home, I was pretty much totally incapacitated, I have no idea what I would have done if he wasn't able to be there. Ugh, I hate being sick.
