Been Really Busy

We've had LOTS going on lately (or so it seems, anyway!), so I'm going to just throw all the updates out there.

• Ellie - she's just been going, going, going. We went to this indoor play area last Monday and she discovered that not only could she handle the slide all by herself, but she can also climb the ladder to get to it! So she went up and down maybe a dozen times. I was really impressed! We also went to a local bounce place, but I think she's still a little too small for that. She really wanted to be able to climb and play by herself, but she really couldn't. Plus, she doesn't weigh enough to really get bouncing, haha. She's also learned a few new signs (including "water" and "juice"), and, as of this morning, knows how to take her PJ's off. 
• Baby 2 - Baby's doing great, but unfortunately, I've had a lot of anxiety. We had our first appointment with my midwives the Friday before last and happened to meet with a relatively inexperience midwife. She was really sweet, but she definitely wasn't well-versed in the current recommendations for moms who have already had a preemie. I know the whole point of being with a midwife is to let the pregnancy progress naturally, but when that includes a preemie, especially one with complications like Ellie had, it just doesn't cut it with me. So I'm in the process of scheduling a second opinion appointment with the OB/GYN that does my annuals, who also happens to specialize in high-risk pregnancies. If they agree that everything that happened with Ellie was a fluke and we don't need any interventions or increased monitoring this time around, then I'll try to quiet my fears and stay with the midwives. If not, we'll switch care over to them (or another OB/GYN).
• Me - I'm hanging in there. We're finally out of the closet with this second pregnancy, so that's been nice. My belly is getting bigger. I think I'm probably a couple weeks ahead of where I was at this point with Ellie, and I'm hoping I'll get a chance to take a comparison pic today or tomorrow. The deal I mentioned with my other blog in my last post unfortunately fell through, but it's fine. I gave the woman a price I thought was fair and reasonable, and I didn't hear from her again. That's OK! We've also started working on getting the office turned into Ellie's big girl room. Tom and I both agree that we don't want it to seem to Ellie like the baby's taking anything away from her, so we want to get her room set up ASAP so she can get used to it, play in it, and eventually start napping/sleeping in it. 

I have tons of new photos to share, and I really want to do a spring/summer makeover for the blog, so I'd better get crackin' before nap's over!
