The Skypeks: Smiling Baby Bea

Things are still going well here, I think we're pretty much adjusted at this point. Ellie truly loves Bea, it's so cute to go get her out of bed in the morning and the first thing she asks is "Where'd Bea go?" We seem to be falling into a regular schedule with nurse/sleep/nurse/awake, and things are going easier on that front, too. At this point, I really don't see any reason why we won't be able to reach my goal of one year - yay! We're hoping for a good weigh-in at her 1 month visit tomorrow, and I'll write up her 1 month blog post after that. My recovery is going a bit slower than last time, unfortunately. I'm finding that it's true what they say - the more you push yourself, the longer recovery takes. The problem is, I don't have much of a choice with these two! There are times when Ellie NEEDS to be carried, and Bea is certainly bigger than Ellie was at this age, not to mention the fact that she came home from the hospital with us (praise the Lord!), so I had to jump right back in as much as possible. I just remember being back to working out (and doing the 30 Day Shred, no less!) at 4 weeks post-partum with Ellie and I honestly don't think I'll even be able to start working out after my 6 week appt next week. I'm still pretty sore by the end of the day. Plus, I don't want to start with such an intense workout this time, so I'm hoping we can get into a routine of walking together in the evenings. I still have 10 baby pounds left, so I'm itching to lose those (and then some!), but it doesn't do anyone any good if I hurt myself. I'm anxious to get back into real pants, though - I'm still wearing my maternity pants! They are just so comfy.

Anyway, I have some video to share! Bea recently started smiling and I caught some on video :) It's funny how even at 4 weeks, her personality is MUCH different than Ellie's was at the same age. Ellie made me wait well into December before she started to smile and even then, she was stingy! Bea's been smiling for almost a week already and she's been very generous. She's a sweetie!
