Congrats, Tommy!

I just have to take a moment to brag on my wonderful hubby - he was just selected for a new position at work! He was chosen to lead a small team on a client site, so he'll now be making the career switch to management. He's a little anxious about the commute (right now his office is just down the road with ample work-from-home opportunities and lots of flexibility, now he'll be over an hour away), but I'm sure we'll work it out. And it'll definitely be worth it to get his foot in the door as a team lead. Congratulations, buddy - I'm so proud of you!

On a completely unrelated topic, Ellie's still sick. Her temp got all the way up to 103.9 last night, which scared Tom and I a bit. We were able to get it down to 101.3 pretty quickly with a lukewarm bath, Tylenol, and some cool Gatorade, but it keeps sneaking back up if we don't dose her with a fever reducer every four hours. We brought her to the pediatrician, who ruled out flu and UTI and decided it's just a virus that has to run its course. I'm wondering if she might take after me - whenever I get a fever, it tends to spike pretty high. I'm generally healthy, thank goodness, but every so often I'll get fevers with no other apparent symptoms that can run up to 104 and above. Hopefully Ellie will get a good night's sleep tonight and feel better in the morning.

Wow, sounds great for Tom! You will miss having him those extra hours, though. But secretly, I'm happy b/c it means maybe we'll see you more. ;) Plus, sounds like a fantastic opportunity for him career-wise!

POOR ELLIE!! I remember when R got a fever that high and it scared me half to death. I'm not one to get fevers so feeling skin that hot was so so scary. I'm glad you know all the tricks to get it down. Lay low...I'm guessing we won't see you Friday. Boo. :(

Abby, I just emailed you :) She's doing a little better, but still nowhere near 100%.
